If you’re anything like me, a night full of music, food, and community will sound like the perfect night out with friends or a partner. Spring Feast is the event for you if you are interested in food, language, or the arts, and it is the perfect mid-ground where you can enjoy the excitement of a night out with the calmness of a community-focused event.

Spring Feast is a melting pot of various cuisines, bringing together students of different cultures to celebrate and enjoy the foods of their countries. There were around twenty stalls in total, with food ranging from Korean Barbecue to Spanish Paella to Pakistani Biryani and many more. Although I am vegetarian, I took a cheat day to enjoy the food, but if you’re a bit stricter with your vegetarianism, fret not, as there were plenty of vego options available – with the Indian stall being completely vegetarian!

Alongside the variety of delicious meals and drinks were some mesmerizing live entertainments and a cosy section near the stage with beanbags to sit and chat while taking in all of the scents and sights of the night. Over the course of the evening, I spent no more than $20 on a side dish, a main, and a drink, making it a very cost-effective outing, even more so if you share with a group of friends.

Every person I spoke to at the stalls was keen to tell me about a classic dish from their culture, and I loved hearing it all. So, if you’re looking for an event that will immerse you in UWA culture and highlight its diversity, Spring Feast is the one for you!
