GaG (Gooning and Gambling) is a little less than serious; running as a joke party, what would they do if they could, and what statement are they trying to make?
What do you stand for?
thats a rlly deep and insightful question. we stand for hope, for love, for the smell of the roses on a crisp spring morning. for the chirping of song birds after a 3 week bender.
Which of your policies are central to your platform?
the central policies to our platform are a) a secret policy we will announce when we get around to making the reel for it next week b) HALVING SSAF FEES (and then gaming them) c) transforming the guild into something that occupies the same space in students brains as washing dishes or a hangover to the space that is responsible for that feeling of euphoria after a wonderful night with friends.
Why should people get out and vote for you?
because were awesome as fuck and the other parties are either lame or have a track record of being less than ethical people.
Do you expect to achieve real electoral success, or are you making a statement through campaigning?
im hoping for a free trip to melbourne. im also hoping to make people realise that things arent that deep and if theyre constantly being little dorks and nitpicking everything, everything slows down and people end up hating the guild. speaking as someone who isnt surrounded by guild hacks, no one knows what the guild is they just think its some lame ass money sink for insufferable dorks.
How will you implement your policies of maximising ‘fun’ (drinking)
I will have you know we care about much more than just drinking!!! we also care about gambling.
Is part of your platform to create a less serious Guild politics implemented simply by you running?
i have no idea what you are talking about we have very serious intentions to run and dont plan to resign on the extremely off chance we get elected
Does it reflect poorly on the GaG party that they broke blackout and (in spite of aiming for more fun in guild politics) built a following under an entertaining guise, only to turn it into a campaign machine? we created the account so we could find out what students really hate, and what we can do to fix it.
Editors Note; This article is all as provided by GaG, it was felt that the manner of speaking was a stylistic choice.
