Left Action ISD candidate withdraws, GLOBAL elected unopposed

Minutes after the opening of polling this morning, Left Action’s candidate Juliana Dewes withdrew from the election. This left only one candidate for the presidency of the International Students’ Department, GLOBAL’s Rishav Neog.

Rishav has now been elected unopposed to the position, a surprise early result one the first day of polling and an early victory for GLOBAL who have held the position for several years. The group’s attention will now turn to their numerous OGC and NUS candidates.

Pelican has reached out to Left Action for comment.
