Guild Elections 2023 Update: Independent Banned on Day One of Polling

WAEC Returning Officer Mary Petrou has issued a booth ban to Adam Elyousef for today, Monday 18th September, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM

The ban is the first penalty to be applied this election season. Adam, who most recently ran as STAR’s presidential candidate in 2022, was set to contest this election for RATS until their split late last week. Adam is now attempting to win election as an NUS delegate and as an independent OGC, one of four running this year.

The booth ban prevents Adam from campaigning between the stated times. As he is no longer part of RATS, the group has avoided any further penalties.

More information will be released soon.
