Lets meet the purple party;
1. What do you stand for?
REVIVE is a movement that first and foremost stands for students. We believe in the strength of student unionism at a campus, state, national and international stage and seek to represent the voices of UWA students at the highest of levels.

REVIVE stands for defending and enriching our campus culture at UWA now and forever. We stand for the students, clubs, and academic staff who are the engine of campus life. REVIVE stands for freedom of speech and reviving the rights of clubs to advertise their events on their campus.
REVIVE stands for leading educational reform, securing our rights to a world class education.. We reject commercialisation of our class rooms, militarisation of our campus and denigration of our teachers. We stand for education adapted to the 21st century, and the preservation of the in-person campus format which has served this community since 1911.
REVIVE stands for the underprivileged who can face extreme barriers to the university experience that the Guild should ensure every student can access. REVIVE stands for immediate cost of living relief and bold structural reforms, and we stand for the Guild spearheading calls for change on campus.
REVIVE stands for and with Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander students, students from lower socio-economic backgrounds, CaLD students, women, and gender diverse students. REVIVE has an intersectional view of the world, we seek to collectively strengthen, support, and raise the voices of our campus’ diverse communities and never allow their power to deteriorate.
REVIVE stands for you, whether you’re across the road at college or across the river from the suburbs. Where you came from, how you got here, and why you rock up each day drives us to demand better for YOU.
Our promise? A REVIVE led Guild will tirelessly stand by you, and a REVIVE led Guild will REVIVE the power of student unionism at UWA.
2. What have you achieved this year that you’re proud of? What would you do differently?
Selina Al Ansari (Ethnocultural Co-Officer, OGC Candidate)
This year REVIVE has tirelessly advocated for students from all backgrounds, and I’m most proud of the way we’ve been able to bridge that gap between the Guild and students who don’t usually feel listened to.
This year as Ethnocultural Co-Officer I have pushed to represent all Culturally and Linguistically Diverse students at UWA. We have run a range of events building intersectional tolerance within the community, including language workshops, a panel advocating for CaLD health and wellbeing, and cultural poetry nights. We’ve represented CaLD interests in a range of forms – from education, to community-making, to art; engaging students who have never interacted with the Guild before. We have created resources to spread awareness for issues that affect our students and global community, including campaigns on social justice, Indigenous solidarity, and fighting racism.
On Council, we’ve worked hard to listen to all voices and ensure students feel supported by their representatives. Engaging openly with different groups to understand their perspectives has allowed us to come to equitable agreements that make them feel safe on campus and in their lives. From bridging gaps and opening dialogue between cultural clubs and the University, to ensuring students can access religious and cultural special considerations such as during Ramadan. Initiatives like our cultural awareness module for club execs will continue to ensure future execs can contribute to a safe campus environment. Alongside Rama, we have also worked to consult on the Racism at Uni survey and push for safer complaint mechanisms and equitable reporting. I’m proud that our work this year can resonate with students for years to come.
The REVIVE OGCs on Council have represented an array of interests, from Rama working on the Club Freedom Fest with the Education Action Network, to Jude helping with the Food for Fines as well as securing an extra microwave for the J. Robin Warren Library, to Katrina fundraising for Cancer Council. Despite not holding the majority vote on Council, our team has consistently put forth motions furthering social causes such as affirming solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers, immigrants and other oppressed groups. Our team has worked to secure Council support for Gaza campaigns and Palestine actions and ensured the Guild actively upholds pro-Palestine positions.
I am proud of the way REVIVE always stands up for what is right. We have been able to listen to student voices, and respond to them.
If I could take one piece of advice back to the start of the year? We should always push that little bit harder. Early in my term, there were instances I would hesitate to suggest ideas in fear we wouldn’t secure Council support for them. There were moments I would second guess speaking up in fear of going against the status quo, or being misinterpreted. Throughout the year I learnt that standing up for what is right will always be the best course of action and it always pays off. That sometimes it makes you unpopular amongst other leaders to do what is ultimately good for the student body. As representatives, we are entrusted with students’ interests, and it is our responsibility to always stand with them even if it gets daunting. I’m glad to have learnt that this year, and I know that our 2026 team have already caught on.
The team running for REVIVE are regular students just like you, who know what matters to you. Our team has engaged in community service, volunteering, club culture and advocacy from all across campus and beyond. Our team is unafraid to implement the community knowledge we have gained, and to stand up for and with students. We are proudest of our team for truly connecting with the community and achieving social change – be it on council or beyond. And we are so ready to bring this to the Guild next year.
3. Which of your policies are central to your platform?
Central to REVIVE’s agenda is immediate cost of living relief for all students. We believe in accessible, nutritious food available all day, every day. We will provide a $1 breakfast menu for all students to access. We know that an entire layer of disadvantaged students at UWA are not able to experience the benefits of study that they are paying for because of the cost-of-living crisis which the Guild has not addressed in a fixed, sustainable way.
REVIVE will expand and promote the Guild’s Emergency Loans and Grants Scheme, increasing their maximum value and promoting these crisis solutions to students at risk through primary Guild channels. REVIVE will quickly highlight and make accessible the existing Student Assist resources by ensuring all materials are published in the extensive variety of languages spoken by UWA students.
Alongside these protective measures against the cost-of-living crisis, a REVIVE led Guild will:
UPSKILL students through cost-of-living crisis workshops and resources with a focus on budget meals and nutrition, financial literacy, health and wellbeing, and trauma informed support
COMMIT the Guild to the nationwide push for free education for everyone
ADVOCATE for the extension of free public transport to all UWA students
DELIVER pay as you go social sports, material action against gendered violence, and a women’s hour at the gym.
REFORM education policy and lock in alternative participation marks, provide sample answers and practice exams in all units
DEFEND campus life through the provision of a Digital Resource Bank, promotion of club start-up funding, and advertisement of current committee vacancies to keep our clubs running
REWARD volunteers and contributors to campus culture with our digital badging system
PROMOTE campus creativity with a year-round Guild art gallery to celebrate your work
IMPROVE faculty society operations through revised funding, meaning more academic, careers and advocacy for the average student
TRANSFORM Guild accountability with monthly financial and activity recaps, active consultation and clear transparency
Every policy and position REVIVE has committed itself to will happen in 2026. REVIVE’s policy platform is fully costed, and our most critical relief and reform agenda will happen within the next Guild year.
A vote for REVIVE is a vote for a confident, capable team that will transform campus life and defend student experience every day, every hour, every minute.
4. Why should people get out and vote for you?
Katrina Soares (‘25 OGC; General Secretary Candidate)
Because the results of this election affect YOU, your peers, and your community.
The Student Guild’s strength resides in its connection with UWA students, to serve and support you. A REVIVE-led Guild will ensure that our policies will start making an impact immediately. With a platform that has been costed and consulted with people from various lived experiences, we are committed to following through with our promises.
REVIVE knows what it takes to alleviate your cost of living pressures, to fight for quality education, to defend club culture, to advocate for better representation. We come from backgrounds just like yours and understand firsthand the change that needs to be made. We are confident and ready to deliver – we just need you to exercise your rights and come along to vote.
Your vote is your voice and by voting REVIVE, you can ensure that your voice will be heard. We are a diverse and passionate team that has your best interests at heart and will stand for and with students, tirelessly advocating for students’ rights and needs
We are ready to tackle the task of transforming the Guild by making changes that put YOU, the students, at the forefront of every decision.
We are a resilient force that is innovative in our approach to addressing the current issues with student life. With determination and vision, we will be successful in reviving the culture, representation, and community within the UWA Student Guild!
5. How do you represent students more than other guild groups?
Grace Skeggs (Women’s Officer Candidate)
As a team, we are genuinely proud of the broad based representation we have developed in REVIVE. Our party has a patchwork background, is deeply involved in campus culture and affairs, and truly represents the widest range of students compared to other groups running in this election.
Our team spans across campus, across the city and across the world. REVIVE hails from Indonesia to Pakistan to Croatia, to Hong Kong, to Ireland to Bardi Country. Our candidates collectively speak more than 13 languages REVIVE is running two Ethnocultural Officers from the previous two years, our team has been and will remain at the forefront of representing ethnically diverse students at UWA.
REVIVE candidates for the 2026 Guild have a strong commitment to campus life, with 11 current executives across a range of clubs, the driving force of UWA’s culture. Our team makes a strong contribution to UWA’s cultural and social impact clubs, faculty societies, and advocacy groups on and off campus.
REVIVE isn’t just another product of the Golden Triangle, our team is spread across the city and understands that your postcode should never determine the quality of education you can access. REVIVE is representative of students across UWA’s socio-economic strata, which informs our realistic, targeted and bold cost-of-living agenda.
We envision a Guild that is truly representative of the UWA student body, and we know that will be achieved with REVIVE. Our party envisions a campus that celebrates, strengthens, and uplifts all students, and our platform directly supports at-risk students for the benefit of our entire campus.
6. What is the ‘untapped potential’ of the guild in more definite terms?
Rama Sugiartha (‘25 OGC; Presidential, OGC, and NUS Candidate)
The Guild’s untapped potential lies in its power to act decisively before crises hits students, not to scramble to respond after the damage is done.
As a multimillion dollar organisation funded by every student, with a team of professional staff that oversee its services, the Guild and Guild Council is well positioned to be a student’s most powerful advocate. Instead it is trapped as a reactive body, slow to move, while students face real hardships.
The cost of living crisis didn’t appear overnight, yet subsidised meals only emerged during campaign week. Meanwhile student unions across Australia have been running $5 meals for months. Our Guild was positioned to lead, being one of the best funded in the country, but it chose to follow.
When we asked about extending period product dispensers – particularly to all gender toilets – earlier this year, we were told it was not their intention to do so this year. Now it’s a campaign promise while immediate action could’ve been taken.
SmartRider credits, a hygiene hub, club markets, club grant policy are all great policies but why haven’t they been done today?
The Claremont Shuttle extensions, threats to club freedoms, Federal Senate Education hearings, solidarity movements, REVIVE has driven major initiatives beyond our portfolios with just 4 of 21 Council votes. We’ve proven that bold, proactive, value led leadership delivers results.
REVIVE’s vision unlocks the Guild’s potential by:
-
Moving first on predictable challenges like transport, food security, and campus accessibility.
-
Engaging meaningful in state and national discussions, including voluntary government submissions to influence outcomes in favour of students.
-
Making the Guild proactive, not reactive.
-
Our policy brings forward new ideas, we are excited to see the Cameron Hall lift – just another part of the Guild Village Masterplan we supported.
Every single REVIVE policy has been vetted. Our policy is ready to be implemented immediately.
We have a team that is ready to go from Day 1, with experience in Council, in clubs, and in community. We won’t just respond to student needs. We’ll anticipate and prevent problems before they impact you.
The untapped potential is simple: a student union that fights for students as fiercely as it is funded by them.
7. Is there a distinct reason your Presidential Candidate is also running for OGC?
Reuben Baeli (OGC Candidate)
Rama is one of the most dedicated student representatives that I have had the honour to meet during my time at UWA.
Rama’s extensive experience spans co-founding two clubs, serving as an executive on three, two committed years of serving as your Ethnocultural Co-Officer and as Ordinary Guild Councillor, and serving as Vice President of the NUS state branch in WA.
I know that Rama isn’t in this race for the grandeur, I know that Rama is in this for you. There is nothing more that he cares about than advocating for and defending UWA students at every turn, on every policy front, in the face of every new concern that arises. I know that regardless of the outcome of this year’s election, Rama wants to be in that council room fighting for you.
By putting Rama up for both positions, REVIVE guarantees experience, strength, and energy for students in 2026. We have a strong agenda for students that we seek approval to implement during this election, and a clear position that students demand more from their student union.
VOTE 1 RAMA and VOTE 1 REVIVE and ensure your choice for active leadership, bold policy and and student voice is heard on Guild Council.
